Aider

Open-source AI pair programmer that edits code in your git repo from the terminal.

What is Aider?

Aider is a free, open-source command-line tool for pair programming with large language models. You add files to the session, describe the change you want, and Aider edits the code and commits it to git with a descriptive message, so every AI change is easy to review or roll back. It builds a map of your whole repository to give the model useful context and works with many hosted and local models, so you only pay for the model you choose. It also supports voice input and automatic linting and testing. It is popular with developers who prefer transparent, keyboard-driven workflows.
